California Senate Passes Sweeps Casino Ban, Crown Coins Backs Boxer + More

Rarely do the two parties agree on anything, but partisanship was set aside to unanimously advance the sweepstakes casino ban bill from the State Senate.
California Senate Moves Sweeps Ban Forward Unanimously
In an extremely rare show of bipartisanship, the California Senate voted in unanimous fashion to advance the sweepstakes casino ban bill, AB 831, 36-0.
Because the sweepstakes casino language was put into a non-related bill, it's not ready to move to the governor's desk. First, the State Assembly will need to approve the bill.
The legislative session ends on Friday, so time is short.
As we mentioned previously, there is substantial tribal opposition to the ban, despite the fact that the organization of larger tribes in the state supports it.
We don't know yet if they are going to get their bill over the finish line in time and put it on the governor's desk for a final decision. We will keep following the story and let you know how everything shakes out in the end.
High 5 Casino Exits California After Legal Setbacks
High 5 Casino has announced that they have pulled out of the state of California after recent legal setbacks.
Not only is there a high chance that the sweepstakes casino ban in California may eventually become law, but High 5 Casino was already locked in a challenging lawsuit in the state.
Just this past week, High 5 made several motions, attempting to force the lawsuit against them into arbitration. The judge in the case denied their requests, putting them in a much more precarious position than they had hoped to find themselves.
The loss of California for any operator is a pretty big blow, as players from the state represent close to one-fifth of the sweepstakes casino market, according to industry analysts.
Crown Coins Casino Backs Boxer in Upcoming Superfight
This Saturday night, boxers Canelo Alvarex and Terence Crawford will be stepping into the ring for a superfight boxing match that will be watched by tens of millions worldwide live on Netflix.
The Super Middleweight title match will take place in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium. When the two boxers enter the ring, one will have the sponsorship of a popular sweepstakes casino.
Crown Coins Casino will be backing undefeated Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) when he steps into the ring against Canelo Alvarex (63-2-2, 39 KOs.)
Currently, Alvarez holds the title in the Super Middleweight division, and it is his second stint as champion at this level. Crown Coins Casino's pick, Crawford, is stepping up in weight class for the fight.
About the sponsorship, Ben Joffer, CEO of Crown Coins Casino, praised Crawford as "one of the greatest fighters to ever step into the ring, a true symbol of determination, discipline, and greatness - everything we champion as a company."
