More Fallout from LA City Attorney Lawsuit vs. Stake

We knew that there was likely to be more fallout from the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office lawsuit against stake that named various game design companies, including Hacksaw, Evolution, and Pragmatic Play.

We reported previously that Evolution and Pragmatic Play were exiting the sweeps casino sites, but now we have more details on Pragmatic Play's exit. Additionally, another online casino game designer has announced an exit in a pre-emptive move.

Let's get into the news...

WOW Vegas Announces Skywind Exit from Sweeps Casino

We already knew that the Pragmatic Play exit was coming and it would be fast, but we were surprised to see yet another exit today that hadn't previously been announced.

Every day we collect our daily freebie bonuses from sweeps casinos as we drink our morning coffee. When we logged into WOW Vegas today, we saw an announcement that Skywind was removing their games effective in less than 24 hours.

As of September 5th, Skywind's games will no longer be on the WOW Vegas platform.

Although we haven't seen an official release from the company, we imagine that they will be following suit at other sweepstakes casinos that carry their games.

Skywind isn't "one of the big boys," but it's evident that the Stake lawsuit is having a chilling effect on the game design industry. At least it seems that way with this unexpected departure.

Pragmatic Play's Sweeps Exit is Monday, September 8th

We already knew that Pragmatic Play was planning to cut and run after the Stake lawsuit; it had been announced far and wide. What we didn't know was how fast it would come.

Now that question has been answered. Upon logging in to collect that WOW Vegas daily login bonus, we weren't just greeted with the info about the surprise exit of Skywind, but we also got the date for Pragmatic Play's exit from the sweeps casino platform:

Pragmatic Play's games will no longer be available in USA sweepstakes casinos as of Monday, September 8th.

If you like Sugar Rush, Gates of Olympus, Big Bass, or any of their incredible games, your last chance to play them will be this weekend. Enjoy them while you can.

Of course, we're hopeful that this Pragmatic Play exit is temporary, and we will soon see their games available for USA players in the future, whether it is at sweepstakes casinos or state-sanctioned platforms.

What About Evolution and Hacksaw Gaming?

Both Evolution and Hacksaw were mentioned in the California lawsuit against Stake. Evolution has already announced an exit from sweepstakes sites, however we don't have a date for their planned departure.

We are still waiting to hear if Hacksaw has plans to make an exit. As a public company, we believe it is likely that they will be doing at least a partial exit in hostile California, but it remains to be seen.
