Pulsz is following Thrillz' in leaving the Arizona market with their sweepstakes casino model.

In the aftermath of the recent cease-and-desist letters to operators, Pulsz has decided to suspend operations in the Arizona market.

Every day brings new developments in the sweepstakes casino industry, and today is no different. Our latest installment includes news from the State of Arizona, as another operator makes an exit, an intensifying spat between Stake and a celebrity player, plus a new warning from the State of Nevada about prediction markets. Let's get into it!

Pulsz Bails on Arizona in Wake of Threats

Back on August 15th, the Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) sent a shot across the bow of select gaming providers, sending cease-and-desist operations to Thrillz, Fliff, and sweepstakes casino operators Pulsz and Betty Sweeps. The ADG letter claimed that these sites were illegal, unlicensed gambling operations.

In the wake of the announcement, Thrillz was quick to pull out of the market. Now we can add another casualty, sweepstakes casino Pulsz.

The phase-out over at Pulsz is gradual, yet swift. Here are the key dates for affected players at their platform:

  • NOW - All coin package purchases have been disabled for players located in Arizona, effective immediately. Play with coins currently in players' balances continues.
  • September 5th - All gameplay in Arizona will cease, both with Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins. Redemptions will still be available.
  • September 19th - All Arizona-based accounts will be closed, and no further redemptions from accounts in Arizona will be permitted.

With this closure, Pulsz is now unavailable to players in the following states: AL, AZ, CT, ID, LA, MD, MI, MS, MT, NV, NY, TN, WA, and WV.

We are still waiting to see if Fliff and Betty Sweeps will be leaving Arizona, or if any other operators leave as a pre-emptive move. We'll keep you updated.

Drake's Tiff with Stake Intensifies in Public View

Canadian rapper Drake once appeared to be a big advocate for Stake, at least if you watched his content doing his high roller thing over there, however that has come to an end.

Now Drake is claiming that Stake is refusing to allow him to withdraw his funds on deposit, and the mess is now on full display for the public to view.

Last week, Drake closed his Kick account, ending his livestreaming of play at Stake, after a fallout with Stake owners Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani.

But just because the action on social platform Kick has ended, that doesn't mean the spat is just behind closed doors.

Since then, he has posted Instagram stories about interactions with Stake's customer service team that relate to his withdrawal attempts.

Additionally, popular streamer Trainwreck is reportedly considering an end to his relationship with Stake.

We will keep you updated as new chapters in this drama are written.

Nevada Authorities Warn FanDuel Sportsbook

Nevada regulators' war against prediction market operators is escalating once again, as two agencies have warned FanDuel Sportsbook about their planned launch of a prediction market platform.

Both the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) and the Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC) are threatening legal action if the company decides to add sports prediction markets to their platform's offerings.

According to FanDuel, their prediction market offering will only be related to US economic indicators, although many believe they are just dipping their toes into the water before transitioning to a massive sports prediction operation.

Why is the sports prediction market so controversial? States put significant taxes and strict regulations on operators when they offer typical sports wagering, however the prediction market model works under federal oversight instead.

And in this particular case, there's not much of that "oversight" happening.

We will keep you updated as there is more news related to FanDuel's prediction market product launch.
