NBA Veteran Denied Bond with $265,00 in Debts to Vegas Casinos
In an update to our earlier story about NBA veteran Marcus Morris Sr. and his arrest at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Broward County, Florida...
ESPN and Yahoo sports analyst and former NBA veteran Marcus Morris Sr. remains behind bars at a jail in Broward County, Florida due to charges of fraud in Nevada.
Morris Sr. was denied bond, and the judge stated that he would only release Morris Sr. for extradition to the state of Nevada, unless the arrest warrants were withdrawn if the bill has been paid.
We now know more details about Morris' legal situation. According to court documents, Morris received a $115,000 marker from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in May of 2024. In June of the same year, Morris got a $150,000 marker from the Wynn Hotel.
As is customary, when a player with a casino marker fails to settle the debt within a certain period of time, the casino submits a check to the debtor's bank to recover the funds.
In both cases, the check allegedly bounced, and bounced checks of these sizes are felonies in Nevada.
Morris' attorney reports that a large payment has already been made towards resolving the issue, and they are hopeful that the extradition request will be dropped.
We will let you know once we have another update on his case.
Whitney Houston Slot at Palms Casino Delivers $599,015 Jackpot
According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, a North Carolina woman hit a massive jackpot near the end of her very first trip to Las Vegas.
Just as she was preparing to leave for the airport, the woman placed a $5 bet on a $0.01 denomination Whitney Houston progressive slot machine and scored a massive grand jackpot win.
According to the Palms, the winner collected a cool sum of $599,015.
To borrow from the Whitney Houston song, with that kind of jackpot win..."I wanna dance!"
The Uno Card Game is Coming to Vegas Casinos?
There have been rumors buzzing for a few weeks now that people will soon be able to play Uno at the tables in their favorite Las Vegas casinos.
Well, sometimes the rumors are correct, but not exactly in this case.
Contrary to what people have been saying online, there is no casino style Uno table game coming to a land-based casino near you anytime soon.
However, there was a promotion at the Palms Casino this month from July 18th through July 20th that was billed as the "Uno Social Club." The Uno Social Club featured themed rooms, exclusive game variants and immersive experiences, according to representatives from Mattel.
But that's it. There's no Uno casino-style game for you to bet the paycheck on in Las Vegas.
At least that's the case for now.
