The Valspar Championship is often well-supported and garners a good level of interest from punters and fans alike. For that reason, there are a few betting markets to enjoy, but we suggest focusing your attention on the most popular to give yourself the best chance at success here.

  1. Outright winner odds

  4. First-round leader (FRL)
  5. Make the cut odds

Copperhead Course Fit: What Actually Matters for Bettors

This is one of the most unique layouts on the PGA circuit. It offers players a competitive par 71, but thinking raw power and complete commitment to aggression will not result in much success.
Skills like approach play, controlled driving, and using power in particular moments have seen a greater yield for players in the past. Players who can remain committed to disciplined scoring are likely to see the greatest returns here – leave them out at your peril.

Contenders to Watch

Favourites

  • Xander Schauffele
While he hasn’t necessarily hit the heights we know he is capable of, the demanding and intricate layout of this course all lends itself to a successful stint for Xander here. If he is able to stay error-free for as long as possible, he is certainly in with a shout here.
  • Sam Burns
Historically, he loves playing at this course; his ability to combine a strong approach play with a consistent showing around the green makes him a contender here, arguably more so here than anywhere else.

Challengers

  • Justin Thomas
Is there anyone on the circuit who boasts a better iron and short play than Justin Thomas now? He is another player who sees his strengths embraced by this course, and so he could flourish here. Do not be surprised to see him competitive here.
  • Jordan Spieth
His creativity and ability to adapt to the conditions so well will always give him a chance here. All he needs is for his irons to arrive with their best ability, and the result could be incredibly difficult to see past him here.
  • Brian Harman
His accuracy and steady nature make him a player many will overlook, but again, given the course and the nature of the game, he simply cannot be overlooked. He is able to be incredibly consistent, and if he remains competitive past the cut, he could have a say come Sunday.

Outsiders

  • Shane Lowry
He is an intriguing player to consider here. Once he gets going, he is difficult to beat, but there is no denying that his ball-striking makes him a player worth considering for outside chances.
  • Russell Henley
His accuracy from the tee box makes him a player often overlooked. He blows hot and cold, which often costs him success on the circuit, but you must consider his chances on a course that rewards such precision golf.

Suggested Bets

These are our best bets ahead of the weekend. Consider these angles, complete with all of our confidence. Comparing markets across the best online betting sites for odds and tournament specials can help you find better value on outrights, placement bets, and first-round leader picks.

  1. Top 10 Finish – Brian Harman (+320 at FanDuel)
Harman’s steady iron play and accurate driving profile work well for Copperhead. A top 10 finish bet provides a safer angle compared to chasing outright value.

  2. Outright Winner – Sam Burns (+1200 at DraftKings)
Burns’ history at this event and comfort on the Copperhead layout make him one of the most logical outright picks.

  3. First-Round Leader – Russell Henley (+3500 at BetMGM)
Henley often starts tournaments quickly thanks to a precise approach to play, making him an attractive FRL option.

Value Bets

For punters happy to take on a little more risk, these are betting options worth considering that provide a far better return on investment.

  1. Top 10 Finish – Russell Henley (+400)
Henley’s accuracy and iron consistency often produce solid finishes on positional golf courses like this one.

  2. Make the Cut – Brian Harman (-250)
While not a huge payout, Harman’s consistency and course fit make this a reliable portfolio bet.

Prediction: Sam Burns to Win

He is a player who seemingly sees his best game come to the fore when playing at Copperhead. His game is incredibly balanced, and if he can convert his half-chances around the green into points, he will be difficult to reel in at the business end. He is our pick to claim victory in this year's Valspar Championship.
