Latest Odds and Win Probability

The early betting indications available for this tournament indicate a possible final field of exciting ball-strikers and players who are very well accustomed to the Scottsdale course.

As is so often the case, though, those players who are able to withstand the intimidation of the course and the pressure of those finite moments will always come off on top.

There isn’t a massive offering on Scottie Scheffler’s chances here, but the reality is that he is a player who has shown dominance for such a long time on the circuit.

For us, backing players like Jon Rahm and Hideki Matsuyama might present a bit more value without compensating for previous dominance at this course.

TPC Scottsdale Course Fit

The hosting course is a par 71, inviting the attacking ideals but also posing enough danger for reckless play. The exciting aspect here is found in the fact that the back end of the course can throw a proverbial spanner into the works for early leaderboard pressure.

The Greens have often been described as grainy and relatively quick, which only adds to the complex nature of the surface. Nevertheless, players who can combine aggression with patience and consistency under pressure will likely find their reward here.

Contenders to Watch

Favourites

  • Scottie Scheffler
Scheffler is a two-time champion on this course. His control and consistency, even in the trickiest conditions, will always see him remain competitive, and his current form indicates that leaving him out could be a fault in the stars!
  • Jon Rahm
Rahm is a strong player with an impressive playing style. If his putter comes to the party, he has the ability to absolutely pulverise this playing field. Leave him out at your own risk.

Challengers

  • Colin Morikawa
You can’t ever really leave Morikawa out of anything. When he finds a degree of form, he is often unplayable, but his sporadic gameplay is also often his own worst enemy. Keep an eye on him anyway.
  • Xander Schauffele
You wouldn’t really want anyone else at the death, in those most pressurised positions, but Xander has shown time and again that when the chips are down, and his head is on the block, he rises and showcases why he is a previous champion on the PGA Tour.

Outside Option

Rickie Fowler
Another previous champion who never fails to entertain. He is a player whose confidence spikes at times, but when he is playing well, there are very few who will find it easy to get past him. This isn’t the most secure bet, but for those happy to entertain a volatile situation – don’t forget Fowler.

Suggested Bets

If you’re placing a bet in the US, stick to trusted, regulated sportsbooks and compare odds before you lock anything in. You can find updated lines, player props, and live markets at leading US betting sites.

  1. Top 10 Finish – Hideki Matsuyama

He is a reliable betting option and one who can cause devastation with his iron play. He is seen as a strong contender for the Phoenix Open, but backing him to find a place in the top 10 might prove a strong betting option.

  2. Outright Winner – Jon Rahm

He hasn’t been in the greatest form of late, but given that he has a certain sort of local familiarity here and a history of taking the weekend by the scruff of the neck before closing a Sunday, makes him our pick here. Get on at generous odds early.

Value Bets

  1. Top 10 Finish – Viktor Hovland

There is a generous price available on Hovland, finding a strong finish come Sunday. He is a player with the ability to find value through intricate play. Back him as an outside option here.

  2. To Make the Cut – Max Homa

This is very much an outside play option. However, given his ability to strike the ball so cleanly and apply pressure with consistency, his chances of finding a spot in the latter stages of the weekend are appealing.

2026 WM Phoenix Open Prediction

Our bet for the weekend is an aggressive one. Back Jon Rahm to win and get his year off to a flyer. His play under pressure is second to none, and if the weekend becomes a shootout, he is the sort of player to find a place in the business end.

Expect aggression, volatility, and momentum all combining to play a serious role in the story of the weekend. In all of that, Rahm seeks to find success and return to the king’s seat within the PGA Tour.
