Toronto FC and Colorado Rapids have found themselves similarly placed early in the MLS season, despite being in different conferences.

The Reds are in the mid-table spots after winning two games so far, while the Pids have done slightly better by managing three wins so far.

Although the season is still fresh, both Toronto and Colorado would approach this game as a must-win, to keep themselves in the playoff spots.

The Eastern and Western Conference soccer clubs have been evenly matched in past clashes, with MLS betting insights hinting at who could win.

Toronto FC Current Form – LLWDW

Toronto FC have endured a less-than-stellar start to the 2026 Major League Soccer campaign, having won just twice in the first five games of the new season.

Most recently, the Reds defeated the Columbus Crew 2-1, which followed a nailbiting 1-1 draw against the New York Red Bulls that came down to the last minute.

Toronto’s first win of the season came against FC Cincinnati, having been soundly defeated by Vancouver Whitecaps and losing against FC Dallas in their opener.

The Reds’ current win-loss record in the MLS has seen them sitting 15th in the Supporters’ Shield standings, although recent signings have reignited hopes.

However, Toronto FC is in a decent seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings and would be aiming to solidify an early hold on the playoff positions.

Colorado Rapids Current Form – LWWLW

Colorado has a win-loss record similar to that of Toronto, with one more win in the new campaign balanced against the same number of losses.

The Pids most recently thumped Sporting KC 4-1 on March 22, 2026, bouncing back strongly from a chastening 3-1 loss against New York City FC.

The defeat by NYFC had ended Rapids’ two-game run of victories which was capped with a dominant 4-1 victory versus LA Galaxy.

The streak began with a 2-0 win over Portland Timbers, although the season began on a sour note with a two-goal opening loss against Seattle Sounders FC.

With the Pids currently sitting seventh in the Western Conference table, the clash against their Eastern Conference foes could be defining for their hopes.

Key Players to Watch

  • Darren Yapi - With two goals and one assist from three games so far, the American forward has been thriving under coach Matt Wells. Showing strong form in the Colorado Rapids attacking line, his role will be crucial for a team aiming to stay in the playoff positions as the season progresses.
  • Paxten Aaronson - A rising star who joined the Pids in 2025 on a five-year designated player contract, Aaronson has provided one assist this season already and has become a key member of the midfield set-up. He will be called on to create chances and contribute defensively for his team.
  • Nico Hansen - With Colorado’s first-choice goalkeeper, Zack Steffen, currently sidelined, the Danish shot-stopper has made 10 saves, although he has no clean sheets this season. With the Pids’ also needing to look at goal difference and close games, Hansen will need to step up when called.

Colorado Rapids News

Colorado has three players likely to miss out on the Toronto game: Reggie Cannon and Connor Ronan are sidelined with ankle injuries, and are only expected back in late April, while Zack Steffen could return in mid-April from his shoulder injury.

Predicted Line-Ups

  1. Toronto FC: 3-4-3
Gavren; Kuscevic, Zimmerman, Monlouis; Edwards, Sargent, Osorio, Laryea; Sallói, Aristizábal, Mihailovic.

  2. Colorado Rapids: 4-2-3-1
Hansen; Travis, Herrington, Holding, Rosenberry; Ku-Dipietro, Ojediran; Sealy, Aaronson, Yapi; Navarro.

Suggested Bets

Toronto FC vs Colorado Rapids betting odds are live ahead of a possibly defining MLS clash in Canada.

  1. Goals Over 2.5 - Bookmakers have given Toronto stronger odds at home, and given the form of both teams and their experimentation with incoming players and sidelined stars, the game should see a few goals (7/10 with Bet365)

  2. Both Teams to Score: Yes - Toronto FC and Colorado Rapids have failed to score in just one game this season, emphasising their ability to attack and take something away from any matches they face (61/100 with Bet365)

Value Bets

As the US top-flight league attracts more betting interest, many punters are searching for where to bet on MLS.

  1. Halftime/Fulltime: Toronto/Toronto: While both teams have had similar results this season, the home turf advantage and a recent upsurgence in form is likely to see the Reds take the lead and maintain this throughout the game (21/10 with Bet365)

Toronto FC vs Colorado Rapids Prediction: Toronto to Win

Based on head-to-head results, the Pids have a minor edge, with the match likely to be decided by whether they can exploit the Reds’ defensive instability and absorb the home crowd pressure.

Weighing the home advantage and recent team additions with the visitors’ overall current form, our prediction is that Toronto FC secure a one-goal win, and MLS bookmakers will be paying close attention to how the match unfolds.
