Los Angeles FC Current Form – WWWWD

Los Angeles FC are looking good to finish top four in the Western Conference and are likely to mount a challenge for the Supporters’ Shield this term.

Their impressive four-game winning streak ended just before the March international break, drawing 0-0 against Austin FC in a surprising conclusion.

Prior to that, the Black and Gold had defeated St. Louis City SC 2-0 and FC Dallas 1-0, taking full advantage of MLS matches that were played at home.

That form has not been limited to games at their home turf, with Los Angeles having handed Houston Dynamo a 2-0 loss at the Shell Energy Stadium.

The 2026 American soccer league season could not have started better for them either, defeating Inter Miami 3-0 to deliver a bold statement of intent.

Key Players to Watch

  • Son Heung-min: Despite a goal-scoring slump following him this season, the South Korean forward has kept coach Marc Dos Santos’s confidence and he is expected to bounce back. Even with a drought in front of the posts, the former Tottenham Hotspur star has created multiple chances and has recorded two assists.
  • Marky Delgado: The American midfielder has been on a tear this season, with one goal and one assist as he continues his impressive outfit in the centre of the park. His pass accuracy is skirting 90% in 2026, he has linked up well, and he is excelling at high pressing.
  • Hugo Lloris: Another former Spurs man who made the switch to MLS, the French goalkeeper has been immense for LAFC this season, with five clean sheets in as many games. Utilising his size and experience, Lloris has played a crucial role, providing assurance at the back when his team moves forward.

Los Angeles FC News

The injury list has been exhaustive for LAFC this season. Aaron Long remains out of action with an Achilles tendon injury, and Jeremy Ebobisse is unlikely to feature in April due to a leg injury. Jacob Shaffelburg, with a groin injury, is said to be nearing a return, with Stephen Eustaquio and Igor Jesus still out until at least May.

Orlando City SC Current Form – LLLWL

It is hard to argue that Orlando City SC have been one of the worst performers in the MLS this season, with just one win from five games.
Their last game before the March international break was a sound 5-0 beating at the hands of Nashville SC, epitomising their 2026 campaign.

Orlando’s only win of the season came against CF Montreal at home, which came on the heels of another 5-0 demolition by New York City FC.

The Lions were earlier thumped 2-4 by Inter Miami and their opening game was a slender 1-2 loss against the New York Red Bulls in February.

Orlando City are currently 13th in the MLS Eastern Conference and 28th in the combined standings, with few positives to draw on thus far.

Key Players to Watch

  • Marco Pasalic: The Croatian midfielder has made five starts from five this season, reflecting a level of faith from interim coach Martín Perelman. He also has one goal to his name, having scored in the loss to Inter Miami, and has shown strength in playmaking, pass accuracy, and long balls.
  • Duncan McGuire: It has been a consistent season for the American forward, despite having little to show for his efforts. McGuire may have only scored once this season, but has a decent rating in ground duels and pass accuracy, although he will need to step up if the Lions are to have any hope.
  • Braian Ojeda: Another player to have featured in the starting XI every game so far this season, the Paraguayan midfielder has shown tremendous vision with his accurate passes. While Orlando City struggles for results, they could turn to Ojeda to create more opportunities to get on the scoreboard more regularly.

Orlando City SC News

The Lions have a few key players on the injury list, such as midfielder Wilder Cartagena, who is working to return in April, and centre-back Robin Jansson, who is only expected back in May after breaking his foot. Tiago Souza is reportedly also still sidelined due to a leg injury.

Predicted Line-Ups

  1. Los Angeles FC: 4-2-3-1

Lloris; Segura, Tafari, Porteous, Palencia; Delgado, Tillman, Choiniere; Bouanga, Heung-min, Martinez

  2. Orlando City SC: 4-2-3-1

Suggested Bets

The best betting operators for MLS have released odds ahead of LAFC and Orlando City’s clash.

  1. Halftime/Fulltime - LAFC: The home team have been practically unassailable this season, and it would be hard to expect anything less than domination against a team struggling for consistency and wins (33/20 with Caesars Sportsbook)

  2. Both Teams to Score - No: Los Angeles have yet to concede in the MLS this season, and would not be expected to allow a struggling Orlando City side to be the first to draw blood against them,.

Value Bets

MLS betting sites have also offered value for those placing stakes on the upcoming clash in Los Angeles.

  1. Los Angeles FC Win + Under 2.5 Goals: With the Black and Gold widely expected to dominate proceedings at home, it could be a gruelling day out for Orlando City, especially given their current run of form (4/1 with Caesars Sportsbook)

LAFC vs Orlando City Prediction: Home Team Win

This is one of the cases where soccer betting tips on paper would largely match the outcome on the pitch, based on respective performances this season for the home team and the visitors.

MLS betting insights indicate that Los Angeles FC will earn a comfortable win at home, and it will be back to the drawing board for Orlando City SC as their nightmare campaign continues.
