Terrion Arnold knows the Detroit Lions have a big test on their hands with their upcoming matchup against the Lamar Jackson-led Baltimore Ravens. For those looking to engage with the action, you can bet on football games and make the most of upcoming NFL matchups.
The Lions are coming off of a huge 52-21 win over the Chicago Bears, their first win of the season. It was a heck of a bounceback win after a flat 27-13 season-opening loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Arnold Breaks Down Lamar Jackson’s Dual-Threat Game
However, they'll go from facing Jordan Love and Caleb Williams, two quarterbacks with solid mobility, to a quarterback who is the best dual-threat passer in the game today in Jackson.
"His best trait is, the guy is just a competitor," says Arnold in a one-on-one interview.
"With Lamar, anytime he steps on the field, he's effective. He can literally impact the game in more ways than one."
After starting out his career dominating on the ground game, Jackson has emerged as one of the best passers in the league. The 28-year-old is now a two-time MVP and is coming off of a 41-TD season. He also had 915 rushing yards last season, which was the most in the NFL.
Arnold, who is a first-round pick and highly-touted cornerback from Alabama, mentions all of Jackson's deadly traits.
However, he still singles out the two-time MVP's competitive nature as his best trait.
"Like you said, he's a dual-threat quarterback," says Arnold.
"He can attack you in the air. He can attack you on the ground. Even just his decision making, he's precise. His best attribute is he's a competitor, like he's one of those guys when he steps in there, like he's delivered for blood."
Lions Must Limit Big Plays to Stay Competitive
The Lions will enter the game as underdogs against the Ravens in Baltimore. A big key to the game will be whether or not Detroit can contain Jackson and the Ravens. The Lions are struggling defensively early on in the season, ranking 21st in points allowed and 24th in passing touchdowns allowed.
Arnold himself has been targeted early on in the season, having been targeted 15 times while allowing 10 catches for 175 yards and a touchdown. He's also allowed a couple of big plays, including a 42-yard pass against the Packers and a 37-yard pass against the Bears.
The Ravens currently lead the league with 40.5 points per game.
Arnold knows that he and the Lions can't allow big plays against the Ravens if they're going to beat them.
"Just going into that game, just continuing to just really, really focus on film, focus on our keys, and I think our coaches will have a good game plan. We just gotta go out there and execute that."
